PRESENTATION: “WHAT’S NEW AT SSHRC”

The President of SSHRC, Dr. Hewitt, will be giving a presentation on “What’s new at SSHRC”.  This presentation will be around 15 minutes with a Q & A afterwards.

The presentation will be on Wednesday, 16-Nov-2016 at 3pm, Room TBA.

Graduate Students and Faculty are welcome to attend.

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS – HESSIAN MERIT AWARD FOR TEACHING EXCELLENCE BY A SESSIONAL INSTRUCTOR

The University of Prince Edward Island’s Hessian Merit Award for Teaching Excellence by a Sessional Instructor honours an instructor for outstanding performance in teaching.  These teaching awards publicly acknowledge individuals whose work has contributed to instructional excellence at UPEI.  The UPEI Hessian Merit Award Excellence in Teaching Committee is currently calling for nominations for these awards.  The deadline for nominations is noon on 18-Nov-2016.  Details can be found here.

MURDER MYSTERY NIGHT – HO HO HOMICIDE

Have you signed up for  our interactive evening of mystery and intrigue?  The Faculty of Education is holding another murder mystery evening  so you can have fun while engaging with our international students!

You can participate as either a main character (investigator, but could be victim or villain) or a general character (investigator only).  The event takes place on 25-Nov-2016 at 6:30pm in Main Faculty Lounge. Light refreshments will be available.

Everyone is welcome!  The more the merrier!  Please contact Ashley to RSVP.

As you are aware, Megan MacKenzie left UPEI last week to take up her new position with the Canadian Association of College and University Student Services.  The E-Learning Office will be hiring a new team member as soon as possible, but in the meantime, Jason Hogan will be doing his best to keep up with your questions and requests.

CAPSLE CONFERENCE 2017

CAPSLE  is a national organization whose aim is to provide an open forum for the practical study of legal issues related to and affecting the education system and its stakeholders.  CAPSLE is pleased to invite presenters and participants to the 2017 conference, “In the Land of Living Skies: Expanding Horizons in Education and the Law,” to be held from April 30 to May 2, at the Sheraton Cavalier, Saskatoon, SK . LEARNING FORWARD’S 2016 ANNUAL CONFERENCE

Learning Forward’s 2016 Annual Conference will be held in Vancouver, BC from Dec. 3-7.  The conference provides educators with content and tools to bring the most powerful forms of professional learning back home to the educators with whom they work. The conference offers powerful strategies to build school leader capacity.
