A NOTE FROM THE FACULTY OF EDUCATION PRIZE WINNER
During the 2016 Convocation at UPEI, Fatima-Zahra Zouhairi was awarded the Faculty of Education prize. The Faculty received the following note from Fatima-Zahra:
“Dear Faculty of Education,
As the Faculty of Education prize winner, I would like to express my heart felt thanks for your generosity in providing this prize. I feel honoured to be recognized for the hard work I put in to my studies as well as my role strengthening the social fabric of the program. While reviewing the requirements of this prize I am honoured to see that it is reserved for a student who embodies the principles of social justice, collaboration and global mindness, and who has achieved a high-level of scholarship and involvement throughout the B.Ed. program.
I feel very happy to be recognized for social justice, this is fundamentally what I stand for and I am pleased that this was clear through my participation. I came from another culture and being part of this faculty made me feel at home in this culture. From the day I started this program, I never felt alone. I’ve learned so much from all the faculty of education members, and it is heart-warming that I am receiving this prize as recognition for being who I am.
I want to thank every person that put my name into this, and I promise that I will do my best to continually deserve this recognition by underlining just, open, and engaged ideas in my future classrooms.
Sincerely, Fatima-Zahara”

A broader campus reception is planned for 28-June-2016 from 2pm-4pm in Main Faculty Lounge. Please save the date to drop in as the campus has an opportunity to give their best wishes to Martha.
