EDUROAM

Eduroam (EDUcation ROAMing) is a wireless network service that allows students, staff, and faculty to securely access the Internet while visiting other member sites.

Users provide credentials (e.g. username and password) from their home institution and they are granted access. For UPEI users, your username is in the form of  “username@upei.ca” along with your password.

DEAN’S STAND UP MEETINGS

We will be starting a series of brief stand-up meetings starting Thursday, 26-May-2016 at 12:15pm.  These meetings will be an opportunity to come together briefly learn more about what the Dean has been working on and share work and ideas that you may have.  These weekly meetings will take about 15 minutes and happen in the staff room (MH 409).  BYOC (bring your own coffee!)

CELEBRATION OF ACDE ACCORDS IN EDUCATION

The Association of Canadian Deans of Education (ACDE) invites you to celebrate ten years of accords in education.  ACDE has launched a series of accords on topics ranging from Indigenous education, educational research, initial teacher education, internationalization in education,m and early learning & early childhood education.  The celebration takes place during the Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences in Calgary on 30-May-2016.  Details can be found in the attached invitation.

CALL FOR PROPOSALS

COHERE 2016 CONFERENCE

The 2016 COHERE (Collaboration for Online Higher Education Research) conference teaks place October 13-14, 2016, at both Yukon College in Whiltehorse, Yukon and Cape Breton University in Sydney, NS.  The theme of this year’s conference is “Education for All: Equity Issues and Online Learning.”  Organizers invite proposals by 20-June-2016.  Details can be found in the attached document.

CONFERENCE ON RESEARCH AND INNOVATION IN CLASSROOM ASSESSMENT: INTERNATIONAL PERSPECTIVES

Papers, symposia and posters are invited for the conference on Research and Innovation in Classroom Assessment: International Perspectives to be held September 21-23 in Brisbane, Australia.  The deadline for submissions is 12-June-2016.  You can find details on the conference website.

CONGRATULATIONS, BASIL!baby-boy

Last Friday, Basil Favaro became grandfather to Lucas Gerald Basil Favaro!  Lucas arrived in the world at 8 pounds, 8 ounces!  Congratulations, Basil!
