Linyuan shared information on An Evening in Support of Afghan Women and Girls, with guest speaker Melissa Fung, award winning international journalist and former CBC correspondent.  The event takes place 12-Sept-2014 at 7:00pm.  Details can be found in the attached poster.  Tickets are available from Nicole in the Administrative Office (MH 402).

Just a reminder that if you have not already forwarded an electronic copy of your fall course outline(s) to the main office, please do so at your earliest convenience so that they may forwarded to the library and the office records will be complete.  You can send them to Nicole or Cathy.

SAVE THE DATE – FACULTY RETREAT

The Faculty retreat which was postponed from the summer will now  be held 03-Oct-2014.  As the purpose of the retreat is team building and sustaining, please save this date so that you can attend.  Please plan to join us for a day of meetings/activities and an evening social event.

INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF EDUCATION AND SOCIAL SCIENCE

International Journal of Education and Social Science (IJESS) is a monthly online, peer-reviewed and open-access journal which is published by Research Institute for Progression of Knowledge (RIPK), UK.  IJESS is inviting papers for Vol. 1 No. 2 which is scheduled to be published on 25-Sept-2014.  Deadline for sumbissions is 13-Sept-2014.  For more information, please visit their website.

Dust off your party shoes!  Rumour has it that the Faculty Social Committee has some great fun planned for the team this semester…  There are rumours of events with pumpkins!  There are rumours of events with Christmas trees!  There might even be some occasions for a cake or two!  Stay tuned as details unfold 🙂
