GRADUATE RESEARCH RECOGNITION DAY AND A CELEBRATION OF GRADUATE ACHIEVEMENTS AT THE FACULTY OF EDUCATION

Wednesday, 18-June-2014, will be a special day in Graduate Studies.  UPEI Graduate Research Recognition Day takes place from 3:00pm-6:00pm in MacDougall Hall with oral presentations and poster presentations from UPEI Graduate Students.  This will be followed in the Faculty Lounge (Main Building) from 6:00pm-8:00pm with a Celebration of Graduate Achievements at the Faculty of Education. We hope that you can join us for this gala event, when we will step back and take stock all of the wonderful work and recognition accomplished by our graduate students during academic year 2013-2014! There are hours of successful coursework, papers, and conference presentations, as well as Faculty of Education awards, UPEI awards, a Canadian Federation of University Women award, and SSHRC awards that we look forward to celebrating on this special evening.   Please RSVP to Cathy Hennessey.

BIRTHDAYS OF THE MONTH

Is your birthday in May or June?  We want to celebrate YOU!  Friday the 13th just got luckier because this coming Friday the 13th marks the first celebration of Birthdays of the Month!  Your Social Committee invites you to come celebrate the May/June birthdays in the Faculty of Education on 13-June-2014 at noon in the staff/faculty lounge (MH 409).  (If your birthday is in May or June,  jot your name on the chalkboard in the lounge!)

FACULTY COUNCIL MEETING – 05-JUNE-2014

The next Faculty Council meeting is scheduled for Thursday, 05-June-2014 from 1:00pm-3:00pm.  This meeting will be held in AVC 286A-N and not in Memorial Hall due to ongoing BEd classes.

Phd Candidate, Bonnie Stewart has recently been awarded the BMO Financial Group Scholarship.  This substantial award is given to a a Master’s or PhD student in any graduate program at UPEI that demonstrates a commitment to service and social responsibility in her community while achieving a high academic standing.  Congratulations, Bonnie!
