PRESENTATION BY DR. ROBIN QUANTICK

Dr. Robin Quantic, Adjunct Professor with the Faculty of Education, will present his work on the incarceration of Indigenous people.  The presentation, “The Correctional Service of Canada and the case of the Flying Fish – Indigenous Justice Paradigms,” flows from
research that examines the role, place and function of Elders who lead healing programs in Correctional Service Canada institutions. The presentation takes place at 4:00pm in MCDH 242 this Thursday, 12-Apr-2018.  Please see the attached poster for details.

TIME TO WRITE RETREAT

If you have difficulty carving out uninterrupted time for writing, if you struggle with motivating yourself to write, or if you would simply like the supportive collaboration of a writing retreat, registration is now open for the May 16-20 offering of Time to Write, UPEI’s faculty writing retreat.

The May retreat takes place at Stanley Bridge Country Resort. The cost to each participant is $200, and includes four night’s accommodation, meals and snacks during the retreat.

GOODBYE/HELLO: UPEI FACULTY OF EDUCATION SPRING CELEBRATION

Join us this Friday the 13th, from 4pm-6pm, at the Merchantman Next Door for a Faculty of Education Event where we will celebrate the contributions of Judy Hughes, Mike Cassidy, John Rogers, and Cynthia MacDonald, as they prepare to retire, and welcome Dr. Omeasoo Wāhpāsiw and Kathy Lynn Campbell to the Faculty!

BABY EMERIE IS HERE!

The Faculty was so excited to learn that Baby Emerie MacGuigan arrived safely at 3:21pm on 28-Mar-2018. Emerie was 5lbs, 15oz and 18″ long.  The entire family is doing well.  Welcome to the world, Emerie!
