CONFERENCE – MOODLE MOOT – OCT. 21-23
Moodle Moot is conference all about Moodle! Canada Moot 2015 takes place both online and in person October 21-23 at Université de Montréal. The theme for Canada Moot 2015 is Connecting with Moodle. UBC MOOC – RECONCILIATION THROUGH INDIGENOUS EDUCATION
UBC Faculty of Education is offering a free 6-week on-line MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) titled “Reconciliation Through Indigenous Education.” The course begins 29-Sept-2015. Participants will learn about Indigenous Education through the lens of reconciliation, and will engage with educational leaders and resources that provide direction for how education programs and teaching practices can be modified in order to meaningfully integrate Indigenous knowledge worldviews and pedagogies in classrooms, schools and communities. FARM HARVEST LUNCHES
Farm Harvest Lunches is a fund-raiser for School Twinning in Kenya and includes approximately $3000 in assistance for our pre-service teachers who complete a practicum in Kenya. Farmers Helping Farmers invites you to The Olde Glasgow Mill Restaurant (5592 Route 13) to participate in this three course lunch on Friday through Sunday, October 2nd to 4th, from noon to 4pm. Tickets are $25 per person and reservations are highly recommended. Phone 902-964-3313 for reservations.

MACLAUCHLAN PRIZES FOR EFFECTIVE WRITING – DEADLINE 06-OCT-2015
The MacLauchlan Prizes for Effective Writing honour Wade MacLauchlan’s service as the president of UPEI and provide a valuable way to recognize the importance of effective writing as a foundational skill for academic success and lifelong learning.
The MacLauchlan prizes include up to 35 student prizes for coursework writing and up to three prizes for Faculty/Staff leadership in the development of writing among students. The deadline for application is 06-Oct-2014. Details on each award are available in the accompanying links below.
