DEAN OF THE FACULTY OF EDUCATION PRESENTATION

The public presentation by Dr. Ron MacDonald, as candidate for Dean of the Faculty of Education, will be held on Thursday, 26-June-2014, at 2:30pm in the KC Irving Chemistry
Centre, Room 104.  All faculty, staff, and students are welcome to attend.
The topic of his talk will be “Challenges and opportunities facing the
Faculty of Education in the next five years.”  The search committee welcomes feedback and requests that it be forwarded by email by 04-July-2014.

MAMA MIA!  A CELEBRATION OF DR. BASIL FAVARO

On 19-June-2014, the Faculty held a small pot-luck event to celebrate the contributions of Dr. Basil Favaro to the Department.  We have created a page of images, videos and notes from this fun evening to help remember the celebration.  A wider campus celebration of Basil will be held at the alumni celebration on 25-July-2014, where faculty, students, alumni, and other guests can come and participate in wishing him well on his retirement.  This event will be held under a tent (rain or shine!) in front of the W.A. Murphy Student Centre.  Everyone is welcome and encouraged to come wish Basil well.

CELEBRATION OF GRADUATE ACHIEVEMENTS

Last Wednesday evening, the Graduate Studies Committee hosted a Celebration of Graduate Achievement.  Faculty and students celebrated all of the wonderful work and recognition accomplished by our graduate students during academic year 2013-2014!  We are very proud of all their achievements!  Here is a list of our winners.  Please congratulate them the next time you see them.

STAFF CHANGES

The Faculty will miss Stephanie Knickle-Currie as she takes up a full-time position in the Athletics Department on campus on 07-July-2014.  Please join us in the staff lounge for cake on Friday, 27-June-2014, at 12:30pm to wish farewell to Stephanie and wish her well in her new position.

Also, we are happy to announce that Wendy Doucette will be joining the Faculty as our new part-time ELC Facilitator.  We are very pleased that Wendy will be starting with us in the very near future!
