CHANGE OF FEC MEETING DATE/TIME
The FEC Meeting that had been scheduled for January 17th has been rescheduled to January 16th from 2:30-4:30 in MH417. This change will allow those interested attending Tess Miller’s State of Mathematics presentation to attend.

STATE OF MATHEMATICS PRESENTATION AND DISCUSSION
Dr. Tess Miller, our specialist in Mathematics education, has prepared a presentation that addresses the complexity of the state of mathematics situation in PEI. Her presentation includes interviews with a number of university faculty, teachers, and students which highlight key difficulties in learning and teaching mathematics. Dr. Miller contrasts this with what large-scale assessment tells us about the state of mathematics in PEI and its impact on PEI’s economic development. The session will conclude with an open discussion on initiatives to improve the state of mathematics in our province.
The presentation and discussion is open to anybody interested in mathematics education in PEI and will take place in MacDougall Hall, Room 242, on Friday, 17-Jan-2013 from 1:30-3:00pm.
